Customer Assistant – Till Operations (28 hrs/week)

About the role

Join Woolworths as a Customer Assistant focused on till operations, working 28 hours per week across vibrant store locations in the Western Cape. You will be the first point of contact for shoppers, delivering friendly service while accurately processing transactions and promoting loyalty programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly at the till and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Process all till transactions accurately, handling cash, card, and other payment methods.
• Promote Woolworths loyalty programmes, utility bill payments and airtime sales.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised till area in line with shop‑keeping standards.
• Check pricing accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
• Follow loss‑prevention procedures to minimise shrinkage and report irregularities.
• Provide basic product information to assist customers and support promotional events.

Required profile

• Minimum education: Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with friendly communication.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Reliability, honesty and a commitment to reducing shrinkage.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts.

Required skills

• POS system operation.
• Cash handling.
