Customer Assistant – Retail Store

About the role

Join Lidl as a Customer Assistant and help create a fantastic shopping experience for our customers. You will work on a flexible schedule, with options for morning, middle, or late shifts, and you will be part of a team that keeps the store well‑stocked, clean, and welcoming.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Operate tills and minimise queue times.
• Stock shelves, prepare bakery items, and ensure products are fresh and correctly rotated.
• Maintain store cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Follow stock loss controls and manage waste correctly.
• Assist with stock counts and other store‑wide tasks.

Required profile

• Can‑do attitude with excellent customer service skills.
• Willingness to go the extra mile for customers.
• Responsible, reliable and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good team player.
• Preferably previous experience in a customer‑facing role (not essential).

Required skills

What we offer

• £13.30 per hour, rising to £14.80 after three years.
• Additional supplements for unsocial hours and overtime.
