Creditors Clerk – R15k CTC per month

About the role

The Creditors Clerk will support the creditors department in a logistics environment, ensuring accurate invoice processing, reconciliations and cost analysis related to waybill profitability. The role demands strong analytical abilities, attention to detail and the capacity to work under pressure while collaborating with suppliers and branch teams.

Key responsibilities

• Match invoices to purchase orders, waybills, manifests and tipsheets, verifying quantities, weights, kilometres, hours, descriptions and rates.
• Confirm proper authorization of purchase orders and invoices according to approval levels.
• Process invoices using the correct general ledger and vendor accounts in the Accounts Payable module.
• Capture vendor invoices in WinFreight (FMS), run rate checks, request credits and resolve supplier queries.
• Request proof of delivery (POD) and resolve anomalies between system data and billing.
• Handle general supplier queries and provide supporting documentation.
• Compile and submit profitability reports to branch managers.
• Maintain and update rates in WinFreight and prepare documentation for rate increases.
• Prepare creditors’ reconciliations from purchase order to payment, conduct cost comparisons between suppliers and forward remittance advices after payment runs.
• Assist with balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain audit deliverables.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with relevant financial qualifications.
• 5–10 years of experience in third‑party, line‑haul or finance‑logistics roles.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with supplier/branch collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution (advantageous).
• Familiarity with WinFreight or other Freight Management Systems.
