Credit Origination Manager

About the role

Our client, a well‑established financial services firm in Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Credit Origination Manager to lead a high‑performing operations team. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end credit origination process, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a team of Business Funding Analysts, Administrators and Graduates.
• Drive operational efficiency, quality assurance and continuous process improvement.
• Oversee commercial credit application workflows and ensure timely SLA delivery.
• Coach staff, foster a high‑performance culture and manage performance.
• Review complex credit applications and support sound lending decisions.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and Business Development teams.

Required profile

• BCom degree.
• 5+ years of people‑management experience leading teams of eight or more.
• 5–7 years of experience in commercial lending, banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of commercial credit, financial‑statement analysis, cash‑flow assessment and loan administration.
• Excellent leadership, analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities.
