Credit Controller

About the role

We are looking for a qualified, goal‑driven Credit Controller to join National Renal Care’s Credit Control Department in Johannesburg. The role focuses on optimising cash flow by collecting outstanding debt, allocating payments accurately, and managing debtor accounts while supporting the organisation’s financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Collect outstanding debts and allocate payments in line with agreed terms.
• Maintain and reconcile debtor accounts, reducing ageing and bad‑debt exposure.
• Collaborate with Billing, Finance, dialysis units, medical schemes and external partners to resolve account queries.
• Process remittances, manage EDI claims and ensure compliance with POPIA and internal controls.
• Prepare regular debtor reports and support month‑end, year‑end and audit activities.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4; accounting, finance or related qualification preferred.
• 3‑5 years experience in credit control, debtors administration or accounts receivable, preferably in healthcare.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable principles, medical‑scheme billing and cash‑collection strategies.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with financial and debtor management systems.
• Proficiency in EDI claims processing.
