Costing Manager

About the role

The organisation is a leading manufacturer seeking a Costing Manager to join its finance team in Johannesburg. This senior finance professional will own the full product costing function, ensuring accurate Bills of Materials, monitoring production variances and providing financial insights that drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end product costing process
• Maintain and review Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Analyse manufacturing and production variances
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cost reports
• Monitor inventory valuation and cost accuracy
• Conduct profitability and margin analysis
• Partner with operations to identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and costing standards

Required profile

• BCom degree and CIMA qualification (essential)
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong exposure to product costing and BOM management
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Effective communication and business partnering skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
