Cosmetic Frontshop Assistant – New Store, The Crescent, Umhlanga

About the role

Dis‑Chem is opening a new store at The Crescent in Umhlanga and is looking for a Cosmetic Frontshop Assistant to deliver excellent customer service and maintain merchandising standards in the cosmetics department.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the full range of cosmetic products displayed neatly on shelves and ensure stock is not past its sell‑by date.
• Restock merchandise from the storeroom, follow planograms and maintain planogram compliance.
• Process all sales transactions, handle cash, cards, vouchers and ensure accurate cash flow and safe drop procedures.
• Handle product exchanges and authorised returns, and record price changes with supervisor approval.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable advice to customers and follow up on out‑of‑stock enquiries.
• Adhere to Dis‑Chem security, health and safety policies and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• 0–6 months retail experience and at least 1 year experience in a cosmetics retail environment.
• Reliable transport or residence close to the store.
• Ability to work retail hours and be customer‑oriented.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Office).
