Corporate Legal Counsel – Johannesburg

About the role

Join a leading industrial and logistics group as a Corporate Legal Counsel based in Johannesburg. Reporting directly to the Group General Counsel, you will support strategic corporate initiatives across multiple African jurisdictions in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Manage and coordinate external legal counsel.
• Provide practical legal advice to business units and monitor regulatory compliance.
• Support corporate and commercial transactions, including banking, finance and security documentation.
• Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, and corporate secretarial procedures.

Required profile

• Admitted Attorney with an LLB degree.
• 4–8 years post‑admission experience, preferably from a Top 5 South African corporate law firm.
• Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law; banking & finance or corporate transactions experience is advantageous.
• Commercially minded and ready to transition to an in‑house role.
