Copywriter & Content Producer

About the role

Takealot.com is seeking a talented Copywriter & Content Producer to craft compelling, scroll‑stopping stories for its Marketplace. The role blends creative storytelling with data‑driven optimisation to boost engagement and conversion across the brand’s digital channels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, write and edit high‑volume marketing content, ensuring alignment with Takealot’s overall strategy.
• Produce on‑brand copy for multiple channels, delivering clear, emotionally resonant messaging.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Marketplace teams to develop strong creative concepts and campaign assets.
• Monitor South African content trends, audience behaviour and competitor activity to keep output relevant and talk‑worthy.
• Measure, analyse and report on content performance, using insights to refine tone and messaging.
• Interpret creative briefs and coordinate cross‑departmental resources to meet tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Copywriting, English or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in eCommerce, e‑learning or digital content production.
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multi‑task.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to marshal cross‑functional teams.
• Creative mindset with a focus on delivering measurable results.
