Construction Manager – Routine Road Maintenance (Site Agent)

About the role

Bantubani Group is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead routine road maintenance projects as a Site Agent. You will be responsible for establishing the site, managing resources, and ensuring that all work complies with health and safety standards while meeting client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the construction site, including resource planning and allocation.
• Control costs by comparing actual expenditures against the planned budget.
• Execute job instructions and achieve monthly certification targets.
• Compile and submit monthly payment certificates.
• Conduct weekly planning sessions and technical meetings with site staff.
• Manage stakeholder communication and expectations.
• Oversee labour production, wages, and site administration.
• Liaise with clients, client representatives, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and attend site progress meetings.
• Perform any additional ad‑hoc site management functions as required.

Required profile

• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 7) or higher.
• 5–10 years of experience in road construction or routine road maintenance, preferably on SANRAL projects.
• Active registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer, Professional Technologist or SACPCMP Construction Manager.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of the ITIS system.
