Construction Manager – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead on‑site delivery of renewable energy projects at their Midrand office. The role involves overseeing construction activities, managing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring projects meet schedule, budget and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all on‑site construction activities for renewable energy projects.
• Lead construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
• Drive project execution in line with schedules, budgets, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Maintain high HSE standards across project sites.
• Monitor construction progress and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and manage construction risks and challenges.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, HSE and Commissioning teams.
• Ensure construction milestones and deliverables are achieved.
• Provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders.
• Support commissioning, testing and final project handover.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years’ construction management experience.
• Experience within EPC, infrastructure, power or renewable energy projects.
• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Proven experience delivering Solar PV, Wind Energy and/or BESS projects.
• Experience with substations and transmission infrastructure.
• Strong commercial and contractual understanding.
• Willingness to travel and work on remote sites.
