Construction Manager (Civil Engineering)

About the role

Asla Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead civil engineering projects across the Western Cape. The role involves overseeing the entire site lifecycle, from establishment to de‑establishment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site operations from establishment through de‑establishment.
• Plan and programme materials, staff and resources for optimal efficiency.
• Monitor quality, work output and report progress to senior management.
• Control costs and compile monthly progress claims.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Manage subcontractors to meet programme and cost targets.
• Liaise with the employer, consultants and local authorities.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Construction Manager on civil engineering contracts.
• At least 8 years post‑qualification experience in civil engineering construction.
• Strong site leadership with a firm but fair management style.
• Knowledge of construction methodology and contractual responsibilities.
• Registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is advantageous.
• Excellent computer literacy.
