Compliance Manager – Financial Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Compliance Manager to join a crypto‑exchange company. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s regulatory compliance framework and ensuring adherence to all applicable legislation and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the company’s compliance and governance framework in line with FSCA, FAIS, FIC Act, POPIA and other regulatory requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and align business processes with legislative changes.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments, monitoring programmes and manage the regulatory risk register.
• Oversee AML, KYC, CDD, sanctions screening, PEP monitoring and suspicious transaction reporting.
• Prepare and coordinate regulatory submissions and reports to authorities such as the FSCA and FIC.
• Support regulatory inspections, internal and external audits and implement remedial actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, Compliance or a related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in compliance, risk management or regulatory affairs within financial services.
• Relevant regulatory examinations (RE5, RE1) and sound knowledge of FAIS, FICA, FSCA, AML/CTF and POPIA.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating across business functions.
