Community Liaison Officer for Construction Project (Ward 27/28)

About the role

The municipality seeks a Community Liaison Officer (CLO) to act as the bridge between the local community of Ward 27 and 28 and the contractor responsible for the Mathyzensloop to Kwaggafontein booster pump station civil works.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise between the community and the contractor, ensuring local labour opportunities are maximised.
• Facilitate communication among the Project Steering Committee, the municipality, the community and the contractor.
• Maintain a database of local resources and keep both the contractor and the municipality informed of community dynamics.
• Assist the contractor’s supervisory staff in managing workers and report monthly on community involvement, training and equity status.

Required profile

• South African citizen, fluent in English and African languages.
• Resident of Ward 27 or 28, familiar with the local environment and currently unemployed.
• Willing to work under difficult conditions, including weekends.
• Reliable, accountable and not a contractor or subcontractor.
