Communications Manager – Corridors

About the role

The Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of TRIM's internal and external communications strategy for the Corridors. This role ensures consistent, engaging messaging that supports the organisation's strategic objectives and enhances its public profile.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, gain approval for, and implement a comprehensive communications plan aligned with Transnet Rail Infrastructure’s strategic goals and international best practice.
• Manage external media relationships, consult with stakeholders, and position TRIM positively in strategic rail and business forums.
• Monitor service delivery standards with stakeholders and oversee safety communication initiatives.
• Deliver regular, multi‑channel communications to all corridor employees, including drafting media releases and responding to queries.
• Coordinate with external service providers to ensure timely, budget‑compliant delivery of communication services.
• Support the creation and rollout of initiatives that promote the organisation’s products and services to internal and external audiences.
• Organise logistics for employee and media events, ensuring smooth execution.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a communications environment, preferably within transport or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of internal communications, media functions, relevant legislation, and commercial acumen.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
