About the role
The Commis Chef will support the culinary team in a busy hotel kitchen, preparing ingredients and dishes while adhering to strict food‑safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, portion, chop, wash and peel fruits and vegetables.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
- Monitor food temperatures with thermometers and ensure HACCP compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, sanitize tools, knives and kitchen areas.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down stations for service and banquet events.
Required profile
- Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 25 lb for an entire shift.
- Commitment to follow safety, security and food‑safety policies.
- Clear communication and teamwork orientation.
Required skills
- Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Using measuring tools and scales for accurate portioning.
- Applying HACCP guidelines and food‑temperature monitoring.
- Knife handling and basic food‑prep techniques.
