Commercial Workshop Foreman / Supervisor / Technical Leader

About the role

The company is seeking experienced commercial‑vehicle workshop leaders for its Middelburg operations. The role involves overseeing workshop performance, providing technical guidance, and ensuring high‑quality service delivery to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise technicians, mechanics, apprentices and other workshop personnel.
• Allocate jobs based on capability, workload and priority, and monitor productivity and turnaround times.
• Coordinate daily workshop activities, support service advisors and parts departments, and ensure a smooth customer journey.
• Provide technical assistance, troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical and diagnostic faults, and conduct quality‑control inspections before vehicle release.
• Maintain accurate job cards, labour times, warranty documentation and workshop records using OEM management systems.
• Mentor and develop staff, identify skills gaps, and promote continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified/Trade‑tested diesel mechanic with proven experience in commercial‑vehicle or truck workshops.
• Demonstrated workshop supervisory or technical leadership experience, preferably in a dealership, authorised service centre or fleet environment.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic fault‑finding ability and experience with modern diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet operational deadlines and handle administrative tasks.
• Valid Code 14 licence (advantageous or required depending on the position).
• Local residency or willingness to relocate to Middelburg.
