About the role
We are seeking a Commercial Underwriting and Claims Assistant to support our insurance advisers in both commercial and personal lines. The role is based in Somerset West and requires a minimum of five years’ experience in short‑term insurance underwriting and claims, together with an NQF4/5 Short Term Insurance certificate and RE5 qualification.
Key responsibilities
- Provide underwriting and claims assistance to insurance advisers for commercial and personal lines.
- Support compliance audits and manage client visits with advisers.
- Create and maintain client asset registers and prepare quote documentation.
- Process quotes, update renewal lists and retrieve supporting documents.
- Handle insurer queries, facilitate surveys and confirm cover.
- Manage cancellations, unpaid premiums and oversee claims processing and administration.
Required profile
- Matriculation (or equivalent) is essential.
- NQF4 or NQF5 Short Term Insurance certificate and RE5 qualification.
- At least five years of experience in commercial and personal lines underwriting and claims.
- South African citizenship.
