Commercial Sales Agent – Account Development

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a Commercial Sales Agent to drive medium‑sized sales targets through specialist knowledge and strategic account development. The role combines direct selling, customer relationship management and analytical reporting to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse primary data to identify market trends and key themes.
• Provide specialist advice on policies, resolve queries and refer complex issues.
• Prepare, edit and publish documents in line with organisational style guidelines.
• Produce data and analytics reports, delivering insights to stakeholders.
• Develop and execute relationship‑management plans for existing accounts, gathering feedback and recommending improvements.
• Deliver financial advice aligned with client goals and sell simple products and services.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, regulatory codes and conduct standards.
• Participate in personal capability building through training, accreditation and industry research.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience in data collection and interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills for advising clients and handling complex queries.
• Ability to maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulations, policies and industry best practices.
