Commercial Manager – Mining Industry (On‑Site)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead commercial excellence for large‑scale mining and engineering projects. This senior leadership position will shape commercial strategy, manage high‑value contracts and drive financial performance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategies that increase growth and profitability.
• Lead contract management, including negotiations, claims, variations and dispute resolution.
• Oversee project budgets, forecasting, financial reporting and cost control.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop the commercial team to foster a high‑performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies and SHEQ standards.
• Support tendering, pricing strategies and new business development initiatives.
• Monitor commercial performance and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Law, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related field.
• 10–15 years progressive commercial management experience in mining, engineering, construction or related sectors.
• At least 5 years in a senior commercial leadership role.
• Proven track record managing large contracts, tendering, estimating, pricing and financial management.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management abilities.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.
