Commercial Manager

About the role

Our client in the agriculture and farming industry is seeking a dynamic Commercial Manager to protect and enhance commercial performance. You will coordinate market, logistics, procurement, finance, systems and operational information, turning data into clear controls, insightful reports and informed business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare director packs, weekly commercial dashboards, issue logs, seasonal performance reviews and escalation reports for strategic oversight.
• Provide budget input, conduct cost‑variance analysis, monitor logistics costs and analyse seasonal profitability and margin performance.
• Maintain visibility of working capital and cash‑flow drivers to support financial sustainability.
• Coordinate customer programme commitments, monitor open‑market trading, prepare performance summaries and facilitate communication between sales, operations and logistics teams.
• Monitor export shipment performance, freight costs, delivery delays, claims exposure and service‑provider performance; ensure compliance with logistics processes and address risks.

Required profile

• Matric with a degree in Agricultural Economics, Accounting, Engineering or an MBA.
• 3–5 years experience as a Commercial Manager within the agricultural sector.
• Proven experience in agriculture, excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
