Commercial Estimator – Painting & Coatings

About the role

Royal Coat Africa is seeking a Commercial Estimator to join its expanding commercial team. You will be responsible for pricing high‑value painting, coating and waterproofing contracts across commercial, retail and premium residential sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret architectural drawings to prepare commercial tenders and quotations.
• Conduct on‑site measurements of walls, floors, roofs and other surfaces to calculate accurate quantities.
• Perform detailed quantity take‑offs for painting packages, including square‑meter areas and linear items such as cornices, skirting boards and window frames.
• Prepare and submit tender documents from initial take‑off through final pricing.
• Identify and generate new project leads, supporting business development efforts.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an estimator or quantity surveyor within the construction, painting or coatings industry.
• Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations.
• Good communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

• Basic salary of R15,000 per month.
