Collections Agent – Credit Card Late Stage

About the role

Ergasia Placements is recruiting an experienced Collections Agent for late‑stage credit card accounts on behalf of a reputable organisation in the legal and financial services environment. The role is based in Pretoria East, Gauteng and requires immediate availability. You will work in a high‑pressure collections setting, engaging directly with difficult debtors.

Key responsibilities

• Contact and engage debtors regarding outstanding credit card accounts.
• Negotiate realistic payment arrangements and resolutions.
• Manage challenging debtor interactions professionally and tactfully.
• Apply knowledge of the legal collections process where applicable.
• Accurately capture and update information in the collections system.
• Follow up on payment commitments and outstanding arrangements.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of all debtor engagements while meeting collection targets and deadlines.

Required profile

• 3–5 years recent personal credit card collections experience, preferably at Standard Bank.
• Experience working on Excalibur, preferably version 4.
• Good understanding of banking and financial services environments.
• Familiarity with legal collections processes.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
