Cloud Migration Manager – Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Migration Manager to lead and coordinate end‑to‑end migration activities as part of a large‑scale cloud transformation programme within the insurance sector. The role is critical for seamless execution of migration waves, overseeing planning, coordination, execution and post‑migration support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all cutover activities for servers within assigned migration groups.
• Collaborate with architecture and design teams to ensure sign‑offs and resolve outstanding issues.
• Mobilise technical teams to develop detailed cutover plans and drive execution.
• Track dependencies, risks and critical path items to ensure timely delivery.
• Engage business and technical stakeholders to drive pre‑cutover readiness.
• Provide reporting on migration progress and maintain risk/issue registers.
• Lead hypercare activities and ensure smooth handover to operational teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cloud migration programmes (AWS, Azure or similar).
• Strong background in cutover planning and execution within enterprise environments.
• Experience with infrastructure, servers and application migration.
• Solid understanding of networking, Active Directory, DNS and firewall processes.
• Strong project management and coordination skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple dependencies, risks and timelines in a fast‑paced environment.
