Clinical Nurse (R/N) – PB Qualified – Theatre Scrub (6 months)

About the role

We are seeking a Professional Nurse (R/N) who is PB qualified to work in the theatre scrub environment for a six‑month period at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital. The role involves delivering holistic, person‑centred nursing care and acting as a clinical resource within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement advanced nursing care in the operating theatre, ensuring compliance with SOPs and nursing theory.
• Provide emergency treatment (RESUS) and act as patient advocate, coordinating communication between families, health professionals and nursing management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, develop and document individualized care plans, and maintain accurate shift documentation.
• Contribute to policy development, quality and risk management, and support staff education and training.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council, post‑basic qualification.
• Thorough knowledge of general and specialised nursing theory, especially intensive care and theatre nursing.

Required skills

• Proficiency in emergency resuscitation (RESUS).
• Experience with electronic patient records, e‑scripts and clinical order systems.
