Clinical Nurse (R/N) – Experienced Medical Ward

About the role

The Professional Nurse/Clinical Nurse at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital is responsible for delivering holistic, person‑centred nursing care on an experienced medical ward. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the nurse coordinates patient care, advocates for patients and families, and ensures safe, high‑quality treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients and their families.
• Serve as a clinical resource, supporting staff in documentation and care delivery.
• Maintain clear communication between nursing management, the unit and external health professionals.
• Initiate and direct emergency treatment (RESUS) when required.
• Interview patients and families to gather relevant information and identify care needs.
• Coordinate patient care within the multidisciplinary team, adhering to SOPs and nursing standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) with experience on a medical ward.
• Demonstrated ability to provide holistic, person‑centred care.
• Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families and health professionals.
• Commitment to the values of care, truth, participation, compassion and dignity.

Required skills

• RESUS (emergency resuscitation) competency.
