About the role

The Clinical Nurse (R/N) – Experienced High Care provides comprehensive, person‑centred nursing care to patients in a high‑acuity setting at Netcare Greenacres Hospital. The role involves coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team, advocating for patients, and delivering emergency interventions when required.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document individualized nursing care for patients and families.
• Act as a clinical resource, supporting staff in delivering high‑quality care and ensuring effective communication with families and health professionals.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) across all wards as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds, develop nursing care plans, and coordinate patient services.
• Prepare accurate shift documentation reflecting patient status, staffing ratios and identified problems.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development, quality and risk management, and staff education.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
• Thorough knowledge of general and specialised nursing theory and practice.
• Extensive experience in high‑care/critical care environments.

Required skills

• Emergency treatment and resuscitation (RESUS) proficiency.
• Use of electronic patient records and digital clinical order systems.
