Clinical Facilitator Post Basic

About the role

The Clinical Facilitator Post Basic provides academic support to nursing students within Netcare Milpark Hospital. Working in the clinical ward environment, the facilitator bridges theory and practice, ensuring students receive up‑to‑date nursing education and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate teaching and learning of both theoretical and clinical nursing components in the hospital setting.
• Provide ongoing education, evaluation and support to nursing students during clinical placements.
• Establish and maintain partnerships between hospital clinical teams and Netcare Education to enhance nursing standards.
• Plan, organise and lead research and quality‑improvement projects related to nursing education.
• Implement accreditation standards and ensure compliance with health legislation.
• Develop placement rosters, monitor student progress and contribute to audit activities.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a post‑basic qualification and recent clinical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor and evaluate nursing students.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and research involvement.

Required skills

• Clinical nursing practice in acute care settings.
• Teaching and mentorship of nursing students.
• Knowledge of nursing accreditation standards and quality improvement processes.
• Ability to develop and review educational strategies.
