Clinical Associate – Specialist Practice (Middelburg)

About the role

The specialist physician practice in Middelburg, Mpumalanga is looking for a full‑time Clinical Associate. You will work closely with the specialist, providing clinical support throughout the patient journey and contributing to high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments, including history taking and clinical examinations.
• Prepare patients for specialist consultations and optimise treatment plans.
• Consult with patients within scope of practice and coordinate their journey from initial visit through follow‑up.
• Assist with clinical administration, documentation and medical record keeping.
• Interpret clinical investigations and support treatment planning.
• Participate in ward rounds and wound‑care clinics.
• Prescribe medication according to scope of practice and practice protocols.
• Provide patient education, counselling and follow‑up care.
• Liaise with referring doctors and provide referral feedback.
• Respond to after‑hours patient queries and escalate issues to the specialist as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BCMP) and current HPCSA registration as a Clinical Associate.
• Minimum two years post‑qualification clinical experience.
• Previous experience in a specialist or private practice is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence is advantageous.
