Clinic Receptionist – Sandown (Cape Town)

About the role

The Clinic Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients visiting the Dis‑Chem pharmacy clinic in Sandown, Parklands, Cape Town. You will manage phone and walk‑in enquiries, schedule appointments and support the smooth operation of the clinic to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients and open new files according to clinic standards.
• Assist patients with completing medical forms and processing medical‑aid payments.
• Coordinate appointments, move patients through the schedule and obtain required medical reports.
• Answer incoming calls promptly, use proper telephone etiquette and accurately relay messages to staff.
• Maintain the reception area, ensure privacy, and keep clinical equipment, stationery and medication supplies stocked.
• Provide information on clinic procedures, area codes and contact numbers to callers and walk‑in guests.
• Support patients in distress and respond to emergencies as required.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• South African citizenship.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Clear criminal and credit record.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Willingness to work at a dedicated desk for most of the day.
