Clerical Officer – Administrative Support

About the role
The Clerical Officer provides essential administrative and clerical support to both clinical and non‑clinical staff within NHS Lanarkshire, helping to ensure the smooth operation of departmental services.
Key responsibilities
- Perform general reception duties, greeting visitors and managing telephone enquiries.
- Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain day‑to‑day departmental requirements to support efficient workflow.
- Handle enquiries from the public, patients and external agencies, both face‑to‑face and by phone.
Required profile
- Educated to standard grade level or possess equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Well‑developed interpersonal skills with a focus on customer care.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Strong organisational and planning capabilities.
