Cleaning Manager – Cape Region

About the role

The Cleaning Manager will lead the cleaning operations for a specific site in the Cape Region, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and strong client relationships. This role combines team leadership, operational planning, and compliance oversight to meet service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cleaning teams, monitor performance and attendance, and address HR matters such as discipline and performance management.
• Build and maintain client relationships through proactive service delivery and rapid response to client requests.
• Control cleaning materials and stock levels, ensuring timely replenishment.
• Use a labour management system (e.g., PRP) to plan and schedule staff to meet operational requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with SLAs, quality standards, and OHS regulations.
• Oversee asset management, performing monthly spot checks on high‑value equipment.
• Maintain accurate client‑specific records, including hygiene consumption, inspection reports, and monthly surveys.
• Identify additional business opportunities within existing contracts and manage output‑based contracts efficiently.
• Collaborate with HR to allocate staff, manage a pool of trained relief personnel, and ensure proper work schedules and job cards.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and motivate cleaning teams on‑site.
• Strong client‑facing skills with a focus on service excellence.
• Experience handling HR processes, including discipline, grievances, and performance reviews.
• Knowledge of health and safety (OHS) requirements and ability to enforce compliance.
• Capability to manage inventory, assets, and contractual documentation.
