Cleaner – Free State Provincial Office

About the role

The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the Free State Provincial Office. This role supports a safe and welcoming environment for staff, visitors and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Clean kitchens on every floor daily using provided equipment.
• Identify and report health hazards to the Provincial Secretary.
• Mop, vacuum, sweep offices, passages, entrances and basements.
• Dust and maintain furniture in good condition.
• Clean glass doors, internal windows and manage dust bins.
• Keep toilets hygienic and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Prepare and clean meeting venues before and after use, ensuring tables, chairs, cutlery and glassware are ready.
• Order meals, snacks and beverages from approved providers when required.

Required profile

• Grade 8 qualification or equivalent.
• At least two years of related cleaning experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of the trade‑union environment is a plus.
