Civil Engineering, Technical and Administrative Vacancies – Contract & Permanent

About the role

Lepelle‑Nkumpi Local Municipality is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for a range of vacant posts within its Infrastructure and Development Department. Positions include senior engineering managers, road and storm‑water managers, project‑management technicians (contract and permanent), electrical technicians and an administrative secretary.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor local infrastructure programmes, including municipal infrastructure grant (MIG) compliance, contract administration and financial reporting.
• Oversee road and storm‑water design, construction, maintenance and budgeting, ensuring CIDB and EPWP requirements are met.
• Provide technical support for project evaluation, cash‑flow management, site inspections and progress reporting in line with municipal IDPs and provincial development plans.
• Conduct electrical network inspections, address public enquiries, and ensure quality control during construction phases.
• Deliver secretarial and administrative support to the Project Management Unit, including report preparation and MIS data entry.

Required profile

• Degree or B‑Tech in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with ECSA registration for engineering roles.
• National Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering or Project Management for technician roles.
• Valid driver’s licence and computer literacy.
• Minimum 5 years engineering experience (3 years senior level) for manager posts; 2 years project‑management experience for technician posts.
• Grade 12 certificate and Diploma in Office Administration for the secretary role.
