Civil Engineer – Project Delivery Group

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group in Johannesburg. You will develop and deliver civil engineering design outputs for multidisciplinary projects, covering both study and detailed design phases. The role involves translating engineering intent into practical, buildable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, preliminary and detailed design for earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities and site development.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, technical specifications and design criteria.
• Define design intent and provide clear inputs to Civil Drafters.
• Contribute to quantity take‑offs, cost estimates and Engineering Work Packages (EWPs).
• Coordinate with Civil Drafters and other disciplines to ensure integrated design delivery.
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions and scope definition.
• Review models and drawings for alignment with engineering intent and compliance with codes, standards and safety‑in‑design principles.
• Support construction phase by answering technical queries and ensuring design completeness.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years of civil design experience, especially in earthworks, drainage, roads and site infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D workflows and applicable codes and standards.
• Professional registration (or working toward) preferred.
• Experience in EPCM or multidisciplinary projects and exposure to BIM/digital delivery.
