Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Cape Town

About the role

Our client, a globally recognised online trading broker, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the South African entity. Based in central Cape Town, the COO will ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance and superior client service across all business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all operational functions, driving efficiency, scalability and profitability.
• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage relationships with liquidity providers, PSPs, technology vendors and other key partners.
• Integrate and maintain trading platforms (e.g., MT4/MT5) and CRM tools.
• Lead the Customer Service team to deliver exceptional client experiences.
• Maintain SOPs for onboarding, support, escalation and complaint resolution.
• Ensure compliance with FSCA, FAIS and internal standards, acting as liaison for audits.
• Collaborate with the CEO and executive team on strategic planning and performance reporting.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• RE1 certification (mandatory) and RE5 certification (representative).
• FAIS‑compliant and meet fit‑and‑proper requirements.
• 5‑8 years of operational leadership experience in Forex or broader financial services.
