CHEP & Pallet Control Specialist

About the role

The CHEP & Pallet Control Specialist will be responsible for managing the company’s pallet assets, reducing unnecessary costs, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of all CHEP transactions. This position works closely with drivers, suppliers, and retail partners to maintain a clean and accountable pallet ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily CHEP account activity, processing debits, credits, and transfers.
• Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations against physical stock counts.
• Audit pallet billing, identify loss or penalty fees, and implement corrective actions.
• Track inbound and outbound equipment, manage Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation, and enforce pallet exchanges.
• Communicate assertively with drivers, suppliers, and retail partners to ensure timely pallet returns.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience managing CHEP accounts and using the CHEP portal or Portfolio Plus.
• Background in finance or accounting with strong ledger‑balancing and audit skills.
• Experience in wholesale, retail, FMCG, or supply‑chain logistics environments.
• Proven track record of cost containment and loss reduction.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data reconciliation).
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Syspro or Sage.
• Proficiency with CHEP portal/Portfolio Plus operations.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
