Catering Manager

About the role

The school seeks an experienced Catering Manager to oversee food service across its main canteen and two satellite outlets. This senior, hands‑on position requires full ownership of daily operations, ensuring high‑quality meals for students and staff in a technology‑driven, wellbeing‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the main kitchen and two satellite canteens.
• Control food costs, ordering, stock levels and supplier relationships with full budgeting accountability.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards across all service areas.
• Recruit, train, schedule and lead catering staff, fostering a disciplined, service‑oriented team.
• Plan and execute catering for school events and functions outside regular service hours.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Catering Manager, Kitchen Manager or similar senior kitchen leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to run high‑volume food service operations.
• Strong people‑management and leadership capabilities.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control, stock management and supplier relations.
• Ability to work autonomously with full ownership of budget, staffing and food‑safety outcomes.

What we offer

• Salary range R20 000–R25 000 per month, inclusive of 13th cheque and Provident Fund contribution.
