Category Manager – Electrical (Bilingual, Own Car)

About the role

The Category Manager – Electrical will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, drive sales targets and build strong, sustainable relationships with both existing and new clients. The role requires bilingual communication (English and Afrikaans) and the ability to travel using a personal vehicle.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the marketplace and design a market strategy aligned with product offerings and client demographics.
• Identify and capitalise on new product opportunities, positioning the range in client stores.
• Develop product launch programmes and customer‑day campaigns within one month of product receipt.
• Respond to client enquiries within 48 hours and prepare weekly quotes.
• Provide weekly market and competitive feedback to the Category Manager.
• Train clients and staff on products through structured weekly sessions.
• Generate and follow up on new leads within 48 hours, executing sales strategies.
• Utilise sample stock, demo kits, catalogues and charts during customer visits.
• Maintain high‑level client service and relay improvement suggestions via market research.

Required profile

• Own car is essential.
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
• Excellent networking, negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong integrity, honesty and a positive, go‑getter attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure, both independently and within teams.
• Attention to detail and strong time‑management capabilities.

Required skills
