Cashier – Customer Service & POS Operations

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Cashier to join our busy canteen team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will handle cash, card and electronic payments, provide friendly customer service, and ensure accurate transaction processing.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally and answer payment‑related queries.
• Process cash, card and electronic payments accurately and issue receipts.
• Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system efficiently, ensuring all items are captured correctly.
• Balance the cash register at the start and end of each shift and report any discrepancies.
• Assist with order verification, stock control and maintain a clean, organised cashier station.
• Complete daily cash‑up reports and handle documentation in line with company procedures.
• Collaborate with waiters, kitchen staff and supervisors to resolve billing issues.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Previous cashier experience in hospitality, retail or a similar customer‑facing environment.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
