Candidate Architect – Data Centre

About the role

AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team in South Africa is seeking a Candidate Architect to support data‑centre projects. You will work under the guidance of senior architects, contributing to design, BIM modelling and documentation while gaining exposure to large‑scale, multidisciplinary projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs, BIM models and construction drawings in line with design briefs.
• Coordinate design efforts across architecture and other disciplines to ensure integrated delivery.
• Produce technical documentation, specifications and construction details that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform quality assurance and peer reviews to maintain consistency and professional standards.
• Liaise with project stakeholders, consultants and contractors to resolve design queries.
• Participate in design team meetings, site visits and support client presentations.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of post‑qualification experience as a Junior Architect.
• Master of Architecture (MArch) preferred.
• Registered with SACAP as a Candidate Architect.
• Willingness to engage in mentoring and continuous professional development.
• Commitment to sustainable design and compliance with building regulations.
