Call Centre Agent

About the role
The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) is seeking a Call Centre Agent to provide first‑contact telephone support for external clients. You will act as the primary point of contact, delivering customer engagement services while representing SABS’s standards and quality commitments.
Key responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls and initiate outbound calls to resolve client queries on the first contact.
- Collaborate with relevant internal SABS divisions to obtain accurate information and solutions.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of interactions and follow‑up actions in the designated system.
- Achieve daily and monthly performance targets set by the call centre management.
- Provide clear, courteous, and professional communication in line with SABS’s service standards.
Required profile
- Strong initiative and ability to resolve issues independently.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet defined targets.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and information retrieval.
