Butchery Assistant – Full-Time

About the role

Babylonstoren is seeking a reliable, hardworking and motivated Butchery Assistant to join its team. The role supports daily butchery and production activities, ensuring high standards of product quality, hygiene and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily butchery and production tasks.
• Pack, weigh and label meat products according to specifications.
• Ensure products are packed neatly, accurately and to a high standard.
• Handle stock, rotate inventory and manage storage.
• Prepare packaging materials, equipment and work areas for production.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic working environment.
• Follow all food‑safety, hygiene and workplace‑safety procedures.
• Support the butchery team with general production duties as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a butchery, food‑production or packing environment is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable, punctual and physically fit for work in a cold environment.
• Strong commitment to cleanliness, hygiene and product quality.
• Flexibility to work varied hours when required.
