Business Systems Analyst – Cape Town

About the role

IQbusiness is looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join a delivery‑focused team supporting a leading financial services client. This 12‑month contract role is based in Cape Town and involves translating business needs into effective system solutions within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse and document business, functional and system requirements for digital initiatives, producing user stories, integration requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate workshops and interviews with business and technical stakeholders, acting as the bridge between users and development teams.
• Conduct current‑state and future‑state analysis of systems and processes to identify gaps, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning and prioritisation alongside product owners and delivery teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst in complex organisations, preferably within financial services or insurance.
• Strong background in systems analysis, including integrations, APIs and digital platforms, and experience working in Agile, hybrid or waterfall delivery models.
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Business Analysis, Information Systems, IT or related fields; certifications such as IIBA or Agile BA are advantageous.
