Business Development Manager – HR Services (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

This brand‑new position in the South African office of a Pan‑African HR services organisation offers an experienced Business Development professional the chance to own growth initiatives across South Africa. You will expand client portfolios, strengthen key partnerships and introduce market‑relevant HR solutions during an initial six‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and close new business opportunities across high‑potential sectors such as mining, oil & gas and telecoms.
• Generate and qualify leads, manage the full sales cycle and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
• Maintain and grow long‑term relationships with existing clients, driving repeat business and upselling.
• Conduct sales forecasting, analyse performance metrics and report on monthly, quarterly and annual results.
• Research market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to shape strategic initiatives.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars and networking events to boost brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Marketing or a related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
• 6–10 years proven experience in Business Development or Sales, preferably within HR, recruitment, outsourcing or consultancy.
• Established network of decision‑makers in high‑demand sectors (mining, oil & gas, telecoms).
• Demonstrated ability to turn strategy into measurable sales results.

Required skills

• No specific technical tools required; strong analytical and presentation abilities are essential.
