Business Development Manager – Energy & Oil/Gas (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across the oil & gas and energy sectors for a leading engineering and procurement business based in Sweden. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building strategic client relationships, and supporting the expansion of engineering, procurement, and equipment supply services throughout South Africa and the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the oil & gas and energy sectors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with operators, EPC contractors, procurement teams, and other key stakeholders.
• Promote engineering, procurement, and equipment supply solutions to existing and prospective clients.
• Monitor market trends, upcoming projects, and tender opportunities.
• Lead the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals.
• Negotiate contracts and secure new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to support successful project delivery.
• Represent the company at client meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development and sales within the oil & gas or energy sectors.
• Experience working with engineering, procurement, or EPC organisations.
• Strong understanding of the oil & gas project lifecycle (upstream, midstream, downstream).
• Established network with oil & gas operators, EPC contractors, and key industry stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, communication and presentation abilities.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASTM, and ISO (desirable).
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Business Central (beneficial).
• Self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple opportunities independently.
