Business Development Manager (Chemicals / Raw Materials / Industrial)

About the role

This position blends business development with strategic account management across the industrial sector. You will grow existing customer relationships while hunting for new opportunities in chemicals, raw materials, mining and engineering markets. The role also involves providing technical support during product trials and staying close to market trends.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and expand existing accounts in the industrial and chemical space.
• Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities across related markets.
• Provide technical assistance during product trials and liaise with suppliers.
• Monitor market trends and customer requirements to inform sales strategy.
• Travel regularly to customer sites and partner locations.
• Maintain accurate account records and forecast sales performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of external sales experience selling raw materials or chemicals in industrial, mining or technical product markets.
• Strong business development capability and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to engage confidently at both technical and commercial levels.
• Matric qualification, a valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Proficiency in Afrikaans is advantageous.
