Business Development Manager – Air & Sea

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Air & Sea will drive new revenue opportunities for DSV South Africa by targeting customers that match the company’s preferred client profile. You will be responsible for expanding the air, ocean and road freight portfolio while meeting gross profit targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a sustainable sales pipeline for air, sea and road freight services.
• Identify, onboard and implement new business opportunities.
• Manage all opportunities, accounts and activities within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
• Maintain a structured diary to ensure consistent customer engagement and sales activity.
• Build strategic relationships at multiple levels within client organisations.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of sales experience in freight forwarding, supply chain or logistics.
• Strong understanding of air, ocean and road transportation, forwarding and customs clearance.
• Proven track record in new‑business sales.
• Valid driving licence and own vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM (advantageous).
