Business Analyst – Financial Services

About the role

The Business Analyst will define and maintain detailed business requirements to support enhancements to Sanlam Life & Savings’ service offerings. You will analyse current business processes, identify gaps, and propose solutions that align with operational and performance goals.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to translate strategic requirements into actionable roadmaps.
• Create, prioritize and maintain the product backlog of features, enhancements and fixes.
• Develop Business Requirements Definition (BRD) and Business Requirements Specification (BRS) documents, use case diagrams and test cases.
• Produce epics, hypotheses, features and user stories in an Agile environment.
• Design new business processes and organisational structures, model existing processes and identify variances.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and developers to define non‑functional requirements and ensure seamless integration.

Required profile

• Matric with Mathematics and an accredited business/systems analysis diploma or a relevant degree (e.g., BCom Information and Technology).
• At least 4 years of experience in the life assurance or broader financial services sector, preferably with policy administration or claims.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, BCL and SDLC, and ability to communicate technical concepts in business terms.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities, with effective communication skills.
