Business Analyst – Consulting (Cape Town)

About the role

We are looking for a highly capable Business Analyst to join our consulting team on a contract basis in Cape Town. The role involves analysing business needs, facilitating stakeholder engagements, documenting requirements and translating challenges into technology‑enabled solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and analyse business problems to identify causes, effects and drivers.
• Document business process requirements through interviews and facilitation sessions.
• Engage with key role‑players across departments to understand processes, needs and challenges.
• Analyse existing processes and technology, proposing new developments based on requirements.
• Develop functional and technical specifications and conduct system analysis for new and existing systems.
• Construct programs, including coding, testing and debugging where required.
• Prepare business cases, conduct risk assessments and deliver playback sessions to validate findings.
• Bridge the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to provide data‑driven recommendations.
• Lead and oversee a team of professionals and present at board level.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or B‑Tech in Information Technology or Business Analysis certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in process mapping, business case development and IT strategic planning.
• Product owner experience with agile methodology.
